10 Reasons to go Vegan!

First the good news - a plant-based diet doesn’t have to be boring!

In years gone by, choosing to go vegan often meant a restricted diet and uninspiring food choices - however that is thankfully becoming a thing of the past as more and more people are waking up to the benefits of a vegan lifestyle.

Why Go Vegan?!

Here are just a few of the reasons why you might choose to go vegan:

  1. Reduce your risk of developing life-threatening conditions such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes and even some forms of cancer. Plant power to the rescue!

  2. A plant-based diet has been shown to help reduce chronic pain, such as the symptoms of arthritis and IBS.

  3. Research has also shown that eating a plant-based diet can help with stress and anxiety, due to the higher level of antioxidants found in fruit and vegetables.

  4. It dramatically reduces your risk of illness from E. coli, listeria, and other dangerous bacteria contained in meat products.

  5. It’s better for your moods and mental health, as you won’t be exposed to the various growth hormones that are routinely injected into animals raised for human consumption.

  6. Less demand for meat products means less pollution and therefore less impact on the environment.

  7. You’ll saves money, especially in the current cost of living crisis! Meat is pricey and using alternatives like tofu, soya protein, seeds and grains is a cheaper alternative.

  8. Maintain a healthy weight – studies have shown that the more meat you eat, the higher your BMI!

  9. It can inspire you to explore new food and get creative in the kitchen, using healthy fresh ingredients.

  10. And, you’ll never have to feel guilty again when you pat a piggy, look into the beautiful eyes of a cow, or cuddle a chicken!

It used to be that choosing to go vegan was a lonely endeavour, and it was difficult to go to a restaurant and choose anything other than a bowl of spinach!

Not anymore, with the evolution of alternative proteins in burgers and other meatless meals. A plant-based diet doesn’t have to be boring either - especially with the yummy guilt free treats available, like our range of natural, organic, vegan meringues!
